Am I allowed to photograph and video a class?

In the interest of protecting the privacy of our Students, we cannot allow any classes to be recorded or any Students to be photographed without our prior written consent. You are, however welcome to responsibly film or photograph your child throughout the open class held at the end of each term.

If my child is experienced, will there be beginners in the class?

Saturday classes are graded by the Artistic Director and his team during the first three weeks of term 1. Weekday classes are structured and age groups and there are a variety of skill levels in those classes.

Do all part time students attending classes during the week perform in end of year concert or just Saturday students?

All dance classes are invited to perform in the end of year concerts however the performance of each class is at the discretion of the Artistic Director. A class may perform an individual routine or be included as part of a medley.

Can I watch my child’s class?

Parents/carers of Petite students who have classes in P1 can watch from the seats outside the class. Closed studios (petite 2, B1, B2, T1 and J2) do not have viewing and parents/carers are requested not to stand at the doors and watch while the class is in progress.

Studios J1 and T2 are all glass and therefore students can be seen however we request that parents/carers do not sit and watch the classes. It is distracting to the students and teachers. The surrounding cafes, restaurants, cinemas and the Saturday markets are great places to visits at EQ while your child is attending classes at Brent Street.

TESTIMONIALS

  • I am a New York based producer however I am back home in Sydney working on a few projects. I had the absolute privilege of attending the 2012 Brent Street Full Time Graduation performance, and I was completely blown away by the level of talent that your school produces. I have been to my fair share of senior and final recitals, and I have to say that Brent Street, by far, is in the lead. The professionalism, dedication, hard work and joy was clearly evident on Tuesday night. You are all apart of a fantastic institution and I am so proud to know that Australia has a world-class school, especially in Sydney. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Brent Street to anyone who wished to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, as I know that they will be receiving the best level of education in the field.  I just wanted to write and congratulate each and every person at Brent Street, because on Tuesday night I was inspired, moved and reassured that the future of our industry in Australia is as strong as ever.Congratulations and thank you all so much, from the bottom of my heart. With much gratitude, George Youakim

  • I want to take this opportunity to thank Brent Street for nurturing Tanika’s talent as a Performer over the last few years.  I truly believe sending Tanika to Brent Street to train was the best decision we ever made.  The performing opportunities she’s received in particular during her full time performing arts course has been fantastic and not to mention the friendship she’s made with both teachers and students.   All the staff at Brent Street has been wonderful.

Just a quick update on Tanika – she’s now officially performing live shows as Mel’s Dinettes with Universal Studio Singapore and is enjoying her stint there.  She also met ex Brent Streeters who are also performing at USS which is great. - Jen
